Yankee Game and Central Park

Grabbed a few muffins on the way to the Bronx via the D train. We arrived at the stadium by noon with our electronic stubhub tickets but, unfortunately, found out the Yankees are one of 3 teams (Angels and Blue Jays are the others) that will not scan electronic stubhub tickets. Instead they pointed me to a Home Depot on the horizon about a half mile away which had a stubhub office nearby. "They can print your tickets for you there" he tells me. Ryan not happy. We finally got into the game and to our seats by 10 min before the first pitch. The game ended well enough with a 5-4 Yankee loss to the Blue Jays. Karma? Yankee Stadium was mostly unimpressive. It feels just as the Yankees had designed - like a bigger version of their old crappy stadium. It has a few good features (the big atrium they call "Yankee Museum" is one), but is mostly bland. After the game we headed back toward midtown, stopping at Columbus Circle to walk through Central Park. We walked until we stumbled on a place to sit and get a drink which turned out to be Tavern on the Green. Had margarita and a beer before continuing past Strawberry Fields, the lake, Bow Bridge, the Boathouse, and the Alice in Wonderland sculpture before catching the 6 train to Grand Central for some dinner. We had burgers and dogs at Shake Shack (burgers were awesome) and walked back to the room by 10pm.
