Not a lot to log today. We got up, checked out of the hotel just as the droves of people started to arrive for the weekend of the 4th. We had a 400 mile drive through parts of 4 states that ended up taking about 9 hours thanks to a detour to the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The drive to the beach was packed with weekend traffic. Fortunately, the drive from Gulf Shores to Tallahassee was a breeze. There is just about no sign of civilization between Pensacola and Tallahassee. We arrived at the hotel, Doubletree on Adams St, around 10pm.
