Planned to get up early but thought better of it when the alarm went off at 7:15am. We got up around 10am, ate a couple snacks and drove to Universal. Hotter than the sun when we arrived but the clouds quickly rolled in and eventually some thunderstorms too. I actually look forward to the clouds and thunderstorms in the afternoon since the direct sun is brutal. Only downside is Disney & Universal have to close down the outside attractions when lightening is in the area. Jessi enjoyed the Dr. Seuss area. Will couldn't pull himself away from the talking fountain which sprays the kids and teases them (someone watching from above or from a camera). He was soaked by the time we finally pulled him away. The 8th wonder of Sinbad stunt show was painfully bad. Hogwarts and Hogsmeade was impressive as advertised. All the people in Hogwarts and Hogsmeade are in character. We waited in the long line for Harry Potter Forbidden Journey and met a couple young teachers from Louisiana (Jessica & Diane). Christy got to have some teacher talk for the hour or so we waited in line. They ended up sitting with our kids for 10 minutes so Christy and I could ride together. The queue and the ride itself are outstanding. Christy and I, however, don't have the stomach for all the simulated motion. Both of us were nauseous afterward. We took both kids on the Jurassic Park River Adventure. I think Will enjoyed it but wouldn't admit it. Jessi immediately declared she was never doing that ride again. When we went to get some dinner around 7:30, we discovered that most of the places to eat had closed at 5 or 6pm. We thought that was a little bizarre. Do people noteat after 6pm?!? Just before we left the park we had a good scare when we couldn't find our backpack with Christy's wallet and our camera. After retracing our steps (a couple times), we eventually found it back where we ate dinner. Back to the hotel by 10pm.
So cute!
