Had bagels once again at Bagel Lovers before walking a few blocks down the street to check out the Pennsylvania capital building. It has an unusual green dome which is designed to look like tge dome on St. Peters from the inside (only half the size). The Pennsylvania capital building is easily the most ornate of all the capital buildings we have visited. Some pictures of the house, senate, and supreme court chambers included here. We lucked out that they were giving a 30 minute tour just 15 minutes or so after we entered the building. If, not, we would have been limited to the main building only. After the tour (2pm ish) we started our drive to Hoboken, NJ to catch a ferry to NYC. We stopped at a Cracker Barrel somewhere in NJ on the way. First Cracker Barrel experience for Christy and I. It wasn't bad. The kids loved the checker tables. Once we got to Hoboken, we made a quick stop at the intersection of Washington and 11th Streets where the first organized game of baseball is believed to have been plagued in Elysian Fields. A good portion of the field has since been developed but the locations of the old bases are marked on each corner of the intersection. There's also a plaque making the location. We arrived at the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal just before 7 and ferried over to midtown....very smooth way to get into town...also helped that it was Saturday instead of a weekday. We walked 5 blocks to the Four Points Sheraton on 40th and checked in by 8pm. For dinner we walked to John's Pizzeria. We had a 30ish minute wait so walked a few blocks to Times Square before heading back to John's. Pizza was so good as we're the garlic cheese rolls. We were back to the room by 10pm.
Nice
