Typhoon Lagoon

Another late start after a late night in the park but this time we at least made it out of bed before noon. We had a legitimate breakfast (instead of just something quick and on the go) at a place called First Watch which was good. We hit the grocery store to load up our cooler with snacks before heading to the water park. We eventually got to Typhoon Lagoon around 3pm which was a little later than we had hoped but still left us five hours before the park closed. It ended up working out well since the crowds were already starting to thin out shortly after we arrived and it wasn't getting cold in Orlando anytime before next Winter. By the time 6pm rolled around the lines were nonexistent. The kids had an absolute blast and got along great. For the first time Will has really overcome his fears of water slides and roller coasters and now he is not to be stopped. I think he conquered all but one water slide at this particular park. Of course,  Jessi wants to do everything her brother wants to do so she has also been just as brave and went on every slide where she met the height requirements. Huge milestone for the parents after many years of "conservative" theme park visits. :-) All in all Typhoon Lagoon was probably the best water park we have ever visited. They have a good variety of rides/areas for all ages. The wave pool is amazing. It's not only ginormous but also sends out an actual wave (5-6 ft tall) every few minutes rather than just generating rough water like your average wave pool. I kept trying (unsuccessfully) to hold Jessi and float with the wave without getting pummeled. The place is also very clean, well decorated, and not nearly as crowded as I expected. Also appreciated that the place didn't smell like feet like several other water parks that we've visited. Christy's only complaint was the lack of Disney decor. After the park closed we headed across the street to Downtown Disney for a bite at the House of Blues Barbecue to-go hut. We walked the rest of Downtown Disney before heading back to the hotel.
