Up and at 'em before 8am AND an unexpected fire alarm at 1am (some funny guy pulled the alarm) made for a short night but we were all ready. We decided to hit Animal Kingdom first and save our whole Magic Kingdom day for a day when we got a little more sleep. William LOVED the Kali River Rapids ride (almost identical to California Adventure's Grizzly River Run but different theme). He got soaked the first time we went and wanted to go again... so we did....and he wanted to go yet again. The kids weren't so fond of the Dinosaur ride (Different themed version of Indiana Jones ride). It freaked them out a bit. Ooops. By 2pm we had finished everything we wanted to see in Animal Kingdom so we had a good 10 hrs left to burn at another park. Christy was by far most excited about visiting Magic Kingdom so any extra time we could steal at Magic Kingdom was a bonus. We ended up seeing about 90% of the our planned rides and attractions at Magic Kingdom by midnight. I thought Magic Kingdom was very similar to Disneyland but actually with a much better amount of acreage to accommodate the number of people they allow in the park. Seriously, it hasn't been that easy to navigate the crowds at Disneyland in any of our trips in the last decade. Maybe attendance was down for some reason (on a holiday weekend though?) but we didn't wait more than 15 minutes for any ride and I can count the number of people I hit with the stroller on a couple fingers. Needless to say, that was a pleasant surprise. The weather was also much better than expected since clouds and a brief thunderstorm rolled in by the time it was starting to get really warm. We can only hope we get as lucky with the crowds and weather for the rest of our stay in Orlando.
Oh, man....Jessi must have been so happy to meet Ariel. She loves her! I can tell by the way she is looking at her that she's stoked! That's so cool!
