Nashville to Memphis

Had a quick breakfast in the hotel before packing up and checking out. Steph offered to get us a discount on shipping home a bunch of things we have collected over the last 7+ weeks. We took her up on that offer and packed 3 boxes to ship home. We reluctantly said goodbye to Steph and headed over to check out a little of the Vanderbilt campus which is also in Nashville. We walked around part of the football stadium (small relative to other major D-1 schools) through the student union,  past the library and finally to Ben and Jerry's on 21st St where I left Shawn, Christy and the kids to retrieve the car. On the way around the football stadium, we found a Vandy football that may have been left over from practice. Will and I played a little catch with the football as we made orway across campus. The campus is beautiful with mostly brick buildings and huge trees. The medical center is the exception. It's quite modern and huge. After our brief Vanderbilt tour, we dropped Shawn off at the airport :-( before starting our drive to Memphis. William tried to stow away in one of Shawn's bags (picture below). So glad Shawn was able to make the trip! We arrived in Memphis around 7pm and checked into our hotel (The Peabody Hotel) before going to dinner at Rendezvous BBQ for ribs just a few blocks away. Ribs were the specialty of the house and the didn't disappoint. Thanks to Steph for the hotel and food recommendations! We went back to the hotel for a swim before calling it good.
