Checked out of the hotel and drove the Magnificent Mile and Lake Shore Dr before heading up I-94 towards Milwaukee. We stopped at an "Oasis" (aka service plaza, aka fancy rest stop) about 20 miles before the Wisconsin border for a quick bite. Arrived at the hotel (Hyatt Milwaukee on Kilbourne) at 2:30 and laid low until 4:30. Miller Park is about 15 minutes outside of downtown but several restaurants provide free shuttles to/from the game for customers. We had a drink and a bite at the Milwaukee Brat House just 2 blocks from the hotel. The shuttle was an experience to say the least. Just before leaving, the driver drags in a cooler of beers and parks it next to him. There's a sign behind himworth a drink menu and he's got a bucket next to him for paying. The OLCC would have not been impressed. Apparently, they don't have too many alcohol laws in Wisconsin. We met a couple (Scott and wife) from Chippewa Falls on the way who were also going to their first game at Miller Park. We got to the game about 6, took a few pictures and picked up our tickets from Will Call. Before our trip, I had mailed out letters to each team we were visiting and asked if they could offer anything in the way of free tickets, a tour, etc. Most of them responded with something to offer but the Brewers were the only ones who o hooked us up with free tickets....and they were good seats. We were on the club level between home and third. First stop after getting in the park was the kids area. Miller has the most extensive kid area that I can remember. Will timed himself running between bases, threw a few pitches with the radar gun, and took some swings in the batting cage. Jessi took a few trips down the slide. After a walk around the main level, we watched most of the game from our seats. It was a long game and the kids were starting to fall apart so we left for the shuttle after a Pablo HR in the 8th put the Giants up 7-3. Giants ended up winning 7-4.
Very nice day & nice pictures. Miss you all.
